Game review: Wolfenstein

PLATFORM: PS3
Price: £49.99
The Nazis were a nasty enough bunch without the added influence of supernatural forces, but that’s exactly what you’re up against in this latest Wolfenstein incarnation.
It brings next-gen graphics and shooter gameplay to a series that will always find a soft spot in gamers’ hearts as one of the original first-person-shooter franchises.
And it offers exactly what you’d hope and expect - intense action in an authentic WWII setting, coupled with a disturbing dark parallel dimension to explore.
This other-worldly element not only works well from a storyline perspective, but also gives license to expand upon the traditional weapon set with some sci-fi crackers.
The single-player mode will give you more than enough to exhaust your trigger finger, but once you break into the online multiplayer mode, the tradition of class-based, team objective gameplay is well and truly upheld to make it one of the most engaging experiences you can pick up right now.
