SONGS and sounds of the sixties will be coming to Middlesbrough Theatre from Tuesday.

Stockton Riverside College will be performing SWEET CHARITY at the Teesside venue until Saturday, July 11.

The show has been put together by performing arts students from Stockton Riverside College and tells the tale of one girl’s rollercoaster ride in search of a soulmate.

Sweet Charity includes hit songs including Big Spender, Rhythm Of Life and If My Friends Could See Me Now.

The cast features many local performers who have already been offered places at some of the most prestigious dance and drama schools in the country - including Laine Theatre Arts and The Urdang Academy.

One student, Matthew Dale, has been offered a place at Arts Educational with a full scholarship.

The Stockton Riverside College student who is playing the lead male in Sweet Charity says: “I am playing Oscar in the production. I am really looking forward to the show, I think it is going to be great.”
