TEES Valley theatres have some great musical treats lined up in the weeks ahead.

Tomorrow there’s a chance to see the real stars of hit movie Brassed Off - THE GRIMETHORPE COLLIERY BAND.

Having won almost every brass band accolade going, they will be at Darlington’s Civic Theatre tomorrow night.

Tickets are £16.50 and £18.50, details on 01325 486555.

THE DRIFTERS, one of the biggest selling and longest serving bands of all time, will be at Middlesbrough Theatre on Thursday, February 11 and Friday, February 12.

The Drifters have sold to date more than 214 million singles and 114 million albums across the world.

The group’s line-up has undergone many changes over the years, with more than 60 different singers including icons such as Clyde McPhatter, Ben E King, Rudy Lewis and Johnny Moore.

This 2010 UK tour features many of the biggest hits, in particular from the Bell Arista era of the group’s success presented through a high energy Disco Fantasia performance, along with some lesser known, and previously unreleased tracks recorded during this era.

Some of the group’s biggest hits include classics such as Saturday Night At The Movies, There Goes My First Love, Under The Boardwalk, Can I Take You Home Little Girl and You’re More Than A Number In My Little Red Book.

Tickets are £20, concessions £18.

Next month the theatre will be rekindling the magic of the Big Band era of the 1940.

SOUNDS OF THE GLEN MILLER ERA will be taking to the stage on March 5 and the Nick Ross Orchestra will create an unmissable evening of music and song. Tickets £16, concessions £14.
