krimo

AFTER hearing great reviews about Krimo’s, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a go one Friday night.

The restaurant has a lovely outlook over Hartlepool Marina but we were pleased we had booked our table in advance as there were no spare tables when we arrived.

There were quite a few things on the menu that we fancied but, on a friend’s recommendation, my boyfriend chose the spicy minced beef in filo pastry to start with.

For main course he went for chicken supreme while I plumped for the goat’s cheese wrapped in parma ham followed by seabass.

In a nice touch, before our starters arrived we received bread and appetisers - meatballs in a tomato sauce and cheese pastries - which were very tasty and whetted out appetite nicely.

Though both starters were lovely and my boyfriend really enjoyed his, he wished he had ordered the goat’s cheese after tasting mine. My dish just melted in the mouth.

The main courses were also delicious and nicely presented with mixed vegetables and potatoes.

After polishing off every morsel, we were both really full but didn’t want to miss out on dessert so we decided to share the chocolate and orange cheesecake.

The portion was quite small but we were both so full that it was just the right amount for us.

The service all night was really good, especially considering they were so busy and had so many tables to attend to.

The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere with low lighting and candles on all the tables. Along with the bill we were given the comments book, which was full of the thoughts of other happy customers.

We both left feeling very satisfied and agreed that it was the best restaurant we had visited in Hartlepool and we will definitely be returning.
