Find a North East Music Venue

The Head of Steam has constant acclaim as one of the best bars in the city. It plays up to the minute music and is recognised for its musical brilliance. The Cluny has a large but comfortable (but clearly ex-industrial) main L-shaped bar, a 250 person capacity function room with bar, on two levels and with a stage.
The City Hall was opened in 1927 as part of Newcastle’s redevelopment, which also included the City Pool. The Harrison and Harrison Organ was added in 1928 to give Newcastle it’s first dedicated concert venue.
The Metro Radio Arena Newcastle is the largest concert and exhibition venue in the North East of England and was acquired by SMG Facility Management Worldwide in 2000.

The Playhouse was originally built in 1925 and operated as a 700 seat Cinema and occasional Music Hall until changing public tastes led to a sad decline and eventual closure in 1979. The building was only saved from demolition by the professional touring group Northumberland Theatre Company. They bought the building and converted the ground floor into a rehearsal and administrative base for their productions. The Company are now known as NTC Touring Theatre Company and take their highly acclaimed productions all over the country.
