THE comedy just keeps on coming in the Tees Valley ... hot on the heels of confirming top TV comics Michael McIntyre and Jimmy Carr this summer, Middlesbrough Town Hall looks set for another special night at the hugely popular Big Mouth Comedy Club on Saturday, July 4.

Comedy Store regular IAN STONE leads the way, with JOHN SCOTT and MATT REED making another cast iron line-up.

Popular north Londoner Ian is part of the Comedy Store’s legendary Cutting Edge team. Once playing to 50,000 people in just 40 days as support for both Ardal O’Hanlon and Alan Davies, Ian is now one of the most sought after comics around.

John Scott conjures up an uncanny mix of Billy Connolly and Aragon, and is rapidly becoming one of the most popular comics on the circuit.

Big Mouth tickets are £10, details on 01642 729729.

:: HEAD to Redcar on Monday for the Other Side Comedy Club at Aspire on the High Street when you can catch SILKY.

Famous for his sharp one-liners and put-downs, he’s worked as studio warm-up on BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Supporting Silky is razor sharp Geordie motormouth BARRY DODDS who is now playing some of the country’s top clubs, along with SIMON DOUGLASS and MATT TILLER.

Tickets are priced at £6/£5 NUS, details on 0845 838 1558

Dockfest ‘09 takes place on July 4 and 5.

The Big Entertainment Tent will feature a family comedy show in the afternoon and a special Big Mouth Comedy Club in the evening.

The weekend will also bring a range of family events, with THE LIGHTNING SEEDS headlining the music day on Saturday, July 4.
