ACCLAIMED French DJ Laurent Garnier touches down in Newcastle tomorrow for a four-hour set at Newcastle’s Shindig.

Widely regarded as one of the best spinners in the world, his eclectic tastes cover all bases from deep house to Detroit techno, and drum and bass to jazz.

The 42-year-old has never been afraid to push the boundaries.

Arguably best known for his club smashes Man With The Red Face and Crispy Bacon, Garnier has produced a string of albums, culminating in 2005’s The Cloud Making Machine – an experimental long-player featuring Norwegian jazz virtuoso Bugge Wesseltoft.

A hectic workload has also seen him launch his own internet radio station, PBB, which broadcasts around the clock, as well as write a book about his DJing exploits, called Electrochoc.

While a regular guest at London’s The End, tomorrow’s set will be the first time Laurent has returned to Shindig in a number of years and it’s one not to be missed.

Shindig tomorrow at Digital, Times Square, Newcastle. 10.30pm to 3.30am.
