St Patrick’s Day  celebrations continue today and tomorrow in Newcastle. Here are a few highlights:

Monday 16th March 2009

St Patrick’s Day Mass. The Blessing of The Shamrock,
St Michael’s Church, Westmorland Road

The Charles Grey, Grey Street, Open: 11am to midnight.
Free Irish music: 4pm to 6.30pm,
Frank McCaffrey, Irish Country recording star.
Food: Irish specials served 11.30am to 7pm

Luckies Corner Bar, St Mary’s Place. Open: 10am to 1am
Free Irish music: 5.30pm to 7pm Granny Smith’s Maggot
10pm to midnight, Alan Kelly, plus Irish dancing from the Newcastle University’s Irish Dance Society
Food: Free Irish stew (while stocks last) when purchasing a pint of Guinness
