The Grand Hotel is the perfect setting for a luxurious Christmas Party jam-packed with festive fun. We have parties to suit all parties at all budgets. Parties and Christmas Faye lunches start on 28th November and continue through until 3rd January. The choices available to you follow:

Christmas Fayre Lunch from £12.95 Sample Menu

Starter  - Prawn, smoked salmon and cucumber tian, beetroot jelly, dill mayonnaise dressing.

Main - Roast Northumbrian Beef, fondant potato, red wine porcini mushroom sauce.

Dessert - Chocolate truffle torte, morello cherry compote, chilled cream.

Golden Years Lunch at £19.95 Available December 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 16th & 17th

The Golden Years lunch is a themed event with music from the era 1939 – 1969. There is a sparkling wine reception with dancing. Sample Menu

Starter - Smooth chicken liver parfait, cranberry and cointreau sauce, oatcakes.

Main - Roast Turkey, redcurrant stuffing, chipolata, roast potatoes

Dessert - Individual Christmas pudding with brandy sauce

Victoria Restaurant Dinner from £18.95 Sample Menu

Starter - Seared scallops on pak choi & chilli croquette potato, beetroot salsa.

Main - Pan-fried venison, chocolate and red wine sauce, dauphinoise stack, braised red cabbage.

Dessert - The Grand Glory, a tall sundae of berries, sorbet & ice cream laced with crème de cassis.

Christmas Party Night from £21.95 Ideal for private and corporate bookings with parties ranging from 8 to 40 guests. Dress code is smart casual and entertainment is provided by our resident DJ until 1am (bar until 2.30am) Sample Menu

Starter - Spiced parsnip soup with herb cream

Main - Seared Salmon fillet, leek mash, citrus hollandaise

Dessert - British cheese, biscuits, grapes, celery and spiced plum chutney.

Post Christmas boogie night at £12.95 Available 2nd & 3rd January Take away those post Christmas blues and party til the early hours in the Grand Chambers suite. The dress code is casual or fancy dress and entertainment is provided by our resident DJ. A fork buffet to die for will be served.

Christmas Salsa Party at £12.00 16th December Featuring the world famous “A.P.U” – The highly respected Peruvian pan pipe band. A.P.U have developed a powerful and exciting mix of traditional and modern compositions. They combine breath – taking pipe and flute skills over searing Latin-American rhythms, producing an inspiring and hauntingly beautiful experience… Walk in….Dance out!  

Christmas Day Lunch at £85.00 served between 12pm – 3pm Sample Menu

Starter - Melon rose champagne & winter berry jelly, mango, pink grapefruit & mint salsa.

Intermediate - Chilled lobster salad, mimosa dressing Main Pan-fried whole sea bass, crab-stuffed & served on crushed potatoes & spinach, champagne beurre blanc

Dessert – Assiete of desserts, orange and cardamom crème brulee, lime mousse and lemon cheesecake.
