NEWCASTLE 'event of the year' nominated premier swing dancing event is returning to the north.

In February 2008, a small Swing dance festival was born in Newcastle, the first of its kind in the area, and this November 7th it returns by popular demand.

The Newcastle Swing Thing, hosted by the team from Newcastle University's Swing Dance society returns bigger and better than ever, aiming to bring students and the public together for one unmissable weekend of fun and new experiences.

People from all over the UK are expected to attend, including travellers from as far south as Cambridge, and who knows how far North!

The festival has a great line-up of teachers from the likes of London, Hull, Leeds and Newcastle bringing their expertise to give workshops at various levels, from total beginners to advanced.

Also, a fine selection of teachers from Newcastle University's various dance societies will be giving taster sessions, to show we don't just swing, including Tap and Latin, with more to be confirmed.

Held in various top venues around Newcastle University and around the city itself, with parties from Friday to Sunday, with amazing music, it promises to be the most fun dancing event of the year!
